Quantum job ads passed last year's total in Coresignal's dataset
The report compares eight months of 2026 with all of 2025. Its unit is job postings, not hires.

Coresignal's October 27 report identified 4,518 quantum-related job postings from January through August 2026, compared with 2,861 during the whole of 2025. That is about 58% more postings in its sample, despite the shorter period. It is a comparison between eight months and twelve months, not a year-over-year employment growth rate.[1][2]
Where the sample has gaps
The researchers filtered more than 25,000 ads mentioning quantum to roughly 9,500 relevant records across 2023-August 2026. Nearly 2,900 tutoring ads were removed. The sources are English-language professional networks and job boards, with gaps in company career pages, national boards and roles that do not mention quantum. Undated records were excluded from yearly totals.[1][2]
Count the same thing before comparing
Different observation periods: all of 2025 versus January–August 2026. These are posting records in Coresignal’s sample, not hires or a like-for-like employment growth rate.

- Observation window
- The span of time included in a count.
- Coverage
- The sources and entities represented in a dataset.
Analysis: reading the work behind a job ad
The useful career question is what an advertisement asks someone to build. An engineering role, a tutoring listing and a business position can all mention quantum while describing very different work. Reading the responsibilities is more informative than counting the keyword. A dataset can point toward employers and work families without proving that each advertised position became a hire.
Analysis: asking a stronger growth question
The comparison also invites a measurement question. A stronger growth estimate would follow a consistently observed set of employers and sources, with a clear rule for reposted or multi-location advertisements. That is a question for the methodology, not a reason to discard the records. For a reader considering the field, use the report as a starting point, then explore QubitWire's Jobs hub and check each employer's current listing for responsibilities, location restrictions and whether applications remain open.
