Two different kinds of choice

Ask about information already held. Use the privacy request form for access, correction, deletion, objections or an appeal. Browser settings do not delete a message, unsubscribe you from email or erase a provider’s records. You do not need to accept ordinary submission terms to make a privacy request.

If the controls do not open, optional features remain off without a valid saved permission. Your browser’s site-data settings can remove saved preferences and local items. For help or a rights request, email gotqubits@gmail.com.

Who this notice covers

This notice explains how information is handled when you visit qubitwire.com, send QubitWire a message, suggest an event, use our research and media tools, or join the weekly briefing launch list. “QubitWire,” “we” and “our” refer to the operator of this publication. Contact us about privacy at gotqubits@gmail.com.

You can read the public website without creating a QubitWire account. The private editorial desk is for authorized administration. Our Terms of use cover use of the publication, and our Security page explains safeguards and reporting. Reading the site or accepting its terms does not subscribe you to email or give permission for optional analytics.

This notice covers QubitWire’s handling of information. Linked websites, embedded services, your email provider and services you sign in to separately also have their own practices.

Information we receive

Contact messages

Your name, email, topic, subject, message and optional organization, together with the form acknowledgment and applicable policy version, submission time and request reference.

Event suggestions

Your email and the event name, organizer, format, date, location, official link and description you supply, plus consent and submission records.

Briefing interest

Email address, signup time, newsletter-consent version, subscription status and, when applicable, confirmation and delivery records.

Site activity

Connection and request information needed to serve pages and protect the service. With your permission, limited page and interaction information also goes to Google Analytics.

Saved items and votes

Saved article, video, event, organization and job identifiers in your browser; a voting browser identifier, daily ballot hashes and public totals as explained below.

Company follows

When you sign in, we receive a site-specific user identifier and identity claims. We store the identifier, followed company identifiers and follow times to restore your choices across devices. Following does not subscribe you to email. Remove follows from Your Updates to delete those saved relationships.

Administration

For authorized editors, identity information supplied at sign-in and records of content changes, including editor identifier and time.

Free-text fields receive what you choose to enter. Please do not submit passwords, verification codes, financial account details, private keys, health records or unnecessary sensitive information. Sending a message does not create a confidential professional relationship.

Why information is used

We use information to operate the publication, answer inquiries, review suggestions and corrections, administer newsletter choices, provide saved-item and voting features, understand readership where permission is given, and investigate errors, abuse or legal concerns.

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, optional analytics and newsletter marketing rely on consent. Necessary operation, editorial correspondence, abuse prevention and recordkeeping are handled for legitimate interests in running and protecting the publication, subject to the balancing and rights required by applicable law. Legal obligations and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims may also require processing. Where necessary to perform a specific agreement you request, that purpose may provide a separate basis.

Contact submissions and newsletter records are collected to handle the requested service, not to enable advertising personalization. Google Ads measurement requires a separate explicit browser choice in addition to Analytics permission. That choice allows advertising storage and sending advertising measurement data to Google, including validated ad click identifiers and consented measured actions. Personalized advertising, Google signals, enhanced matching and Reddit tracking remain disabled. Existing Analytics permission and “Accept optional” do not grant Google Ads measurement. Whether a provider relationship is a statutory sale or sharing depends on applicable law, contracts and actual use; this notice does not make an unverified blanket no-sale or no-sharing claim. The public site does not collect brokerage credentials, execute trades or process event ticket purchases.

Messages and event suggestions

Submissions enter a private editorial inbox. Contact details and private messages are not automatically published. Event information intended for publication may be reviewed, edited and published; the submitter’s contact email is used for handling the request and is not automatically part of the listing.

Email notifications are configured to use Resend and gotqubits@gmail.com. Resend and the receiving email service process the message and sender details for delivery and reply handling. The on-screen receipt distinguishes application receipt from email notification status.

When company-mailbox assistance is connected, automated tools may help categorize correspondence or prepare routine replies, with sensitive matters referred for owner review. That assistance is separate from visitor analytics. Contacting us does not join the briefing list. Do not use the form for emergencies or a deadline requiring a guaranteed response.

Jobs and employer applications

QubitWire Jobs helps you discover vacancies and compare published role information. Application links open the employer’s application system. QubitWire does not collect CVs or submit applications. Information you provide on an employer’s site is handled under that service’s policies.

Job suggestions and listing reports use our existing Contact process and enter the private editorial inbox for review. Do not include CVs, application documents or unnecessary personal information about candidates. A contact receipt confirms that a message was recorded, not that a job was published or an application submitted.

The weekly briefing and unsubscribe

We record your email, signup time, consent and subscription state. When confirmation is available, its link is valid for 48 hours. Link expiry prevents further use of the link; it does not automatically erase signup or outgoing-message records.

When connected, Resend processes subscriber addresses, confirmation messages, briefing content and delivery, bounce, complaint and unsubscribe records. Editions include an unsubscribe option. You can also email us to withdraw a launch-list request or stop messages. A limited suppression record may remain to prevent an address being accidentally added back.

Newsletter consent is separate from analytics consent: declining analytics does not prevent signup, and changing analytics choices does not unsubscribe you. Opening email or following links can involve your email provider, the delivery service and destinations you choose. This website’s analytics control governs its Google Analytics tag, not all email-provider records.

Optional Google Analytics

The Google Analytics tag loads only after you enable Analytics in “Your privacy choices.” Declining leaves the website usable. With permission, we measure eligible public page visits, approximate location, device and browser categories, traffic sources, engagement and selected actions such as opening a video or organization profile, saving a video, following a link or submitting a form. Google receives ordinary connection information when the tag loads.

These are browser and interaction measurements, not a complete count of individual people. A video-opening event does not prove playback; a form-success event does not prove a unique subscriber or delivered email.

With analytics permission, we also measure homepage loading speed, responsiveness and layout stability, plus search opens and the type of result selected. An engaged read means at least 45 seconds in a visible tab with half the article body reached. Company-profile opens are another research-interest measure. Temporary session storage helps avoid counting those content actions repeatedly in the same tab. These measurements exclude search text and details of individual page elements.

Our tracking code excludes form contents, email addresses, free-text searches, private inbox information and vote choices. Page addresses sent by that code omit arbitrary query parameters and fragments, except the three validated Google ad click identifiers when separate Google Ads measurement permission is granted. Event details are restricted to approved categories, numerical performance measurements and public content identifiers. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled, and no personal account identifier is assigned to Analytics.

For our Google Ads pilot, reviewed campaign labels and advertiser-selected keywords help compare ads with Analytics permission. Separately, Google Ads measurement permission allows validated gclid, gbraid or wbraid click identifiers to be included in a sanitized page URL sent to Google. These opaque identifiers can connect an ad click with later measured actions; they are personal data even though they do not contain a name in our implementation. They are recognized from this tab’s session storage for at most 30 days or until the tab session ends. Expired records are no longer used and may remain physically present until withdrawal, browser cleanup or the tab session ends. We do not send form contents, email addresses, phone numbers or free-text search queries in these custom measurements.

Your browser choice is recognized for up to 180 days. The site requests a 180-day analytics-cookie lifetime without extending expiry on each visit. Google manages retention of received analytics under the property’s settings and service terms; standard aggregate reports and provider records may remain longer than browser cookies. Cookie expiry is not deletion of provider records.

Your privacy choices lets you change your choice. Withdrawal stops this site’s analytics collection and attempts to remove its Analytics cookies. It does not automatically reload the page or erase information already collected. If Analytics code was already loaded, the controls offer a manual reload to unload that code after you finish or copy any message draft. See Google’s explanation of information from partner sites.

Cookies and browser storage

Privacy choice

Local storage remembers the category choices, policy version and timestamp for up to 180 days. A refusal cookie can also preserve the choice. Older stored values may remain until browser data is cleared even after the app stops treating them as current.

Analytics cookies

Google’s _ga and related cookies distinguish browsers and sessions after permission, subject to the lifetime and withdrawal controls above.

Saved items

Saved articles, videos, events, topic follows and the QRank shortlist stay in this browser until removed, cleared or evicted. Your Updates brings these lists together. Company follows also form your Investing watchlist; they stay in this browser when signed out and are stored in your account when signed in. You can explicitly merge local company follows into signed-in follows. Other saved lists remain in this browser.

Saved jobs

Job references are stored in this browser when you choose Save and are managed through Saved jobs. They remain until removed, cleared or evicted. They are not synchronized to a QubitWire account, and saving a role does not submit an application or subscribe you to job alerts. Saved job searches store only the submitted filters, a readable label and opportunity references for later comparisons in this browser. Remove each search from the Jobs page; this leaves individually saved jobs unchanged.

Reading and return history

With optional reading-history permission, your browser remembers your last visit, recently opened articles, approximate reading position, read or watched status and acknowledged updates so you can resume reading and see what changed. Up to 200 article records and 500 saved status identifiers are retained locally. These records are not sent to QubitWire as part of this feature. Reset them from Your Updates without removing your saved lists or company follows. Opening a video does not automatically mark it watched.

Voting cookie

The functional qw_video_voter cookie holds a random browser identifier for up to one year. A new identifier is set when you submit a vote, independently of Analytics permission; retrieving vote totals alone does not create one.

Remove saved items through their controls or clear this site’s browser data. Blocking or deleting cookies and storage may reset preferences, saved items and voting identity. A new device or browser does not automatically receive the same saved list.

Searches, filters and selected profiles can appear in page addresses, browser history and copied links. Although our custom Analytics events omit those query values, ordinary site requests and hosting systems may receive them. Do not put private information in a search or share a URL without checking its contents.

Community video voting

A random, pseudonymous browser identifier helps enforce one vote per video per UTC day. “Pseudonymous” means an identifier is used instead of your name; it does not guarantee that information can never be linked to a browser. The cookie is sent with requests to this site. Ballot records use a hash derived from the identifier and UTC date, alongside the video, direction and time.

After successful voting activity, the app attempts to remove ballots older than the current and two preceding UTC dates. Cleanup is triggered by activity, not guaranteed at exactly 72 hours: older records can remain while voting is inactive or cleanup fails. Aggregate upvote and downvote totals remain public.

Temporary hashed connection keys limit excessive voting requests. Voter identities are not published and vote direction is not sent in our Analytics events. Totals represent recorded votes, not verified unique people, expert judgments or YouTube view counts. Clearing the cookie or changing browsers can create a new identity.

Providers and external content

Hosting and access

Our hosting providers, OpenAI and Cloudflare, serve the site, store application records and support protected editorial access. They process connection, request and security information needed to operate their systems.

Google Analytics

Google receives limited measurement and connection information when you allow the tag. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

YouTube

YouTube thumbnails and the privacy-enhanced player connect only after Video players permission, including on a shared video page. The library uses a local placeholder before permission. Google receives connection information when the permitted player loads, before playback necessarily begins. This choice is separate from Analytics.

Google Maps

A map for a physical event connects to Google only after Maps permission. Google receives the listed location and connection information. This choice is separate from Analytics. The event map does not request your device location. Opening Maps takes you to Google’s service. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

TradingView

Market panels and compact homepage quotes load TradingView scripts and widgets only after Market data permission. TradingView receives connection and relevant widget information. This choice is separate from Analytics. See TradingView’s Privacy Policy.

Editorial photographs

Most publication media is served with the website. Some licensed People photographs are delivered from Wikimedia image servers as those images are displayed. Those servers receive ordinary connection information, even when optional players, maps, market widgets and analytics are off. This is image delivery, not a QubitWire advertising integration. Source and license details remain with the profile or Media Credits.

Email services

When activated, Resend handles confirmations, notifications and newsletters. Recipient mail services, including Gmail for QubitWire’s mailbox, process delivered correspondence. See Resend’s Privacy Policy.

Selecting an external-content category allows that provider to connect. Declining Analytics alone does not withdraw an independently selected external-content category. External links remain separate from embedded content. External services have their own policies. A source, organization or registration link takes you to a separate service; check its practices before submitting information.

Authorized personnel and tools assisting QubitWire may handle records for the purposes described here. Disclosure may also be necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect rights and safety, or resolve fraud, abuse or a security issue. A change in the publication’s operation or ownership would require continued protection of information and any legally required notice.

How long information remains

Retention depends on the record and purpose. Ordinary contact messages and event suggestions become eligible for an owner-reviewed cleanup 365 days after being marked handled. The cleanup removes the selected application submission and its application email copy together. It excludes legal holds, open requests, unsettled delivery and correspondence classified as privacy, security, copyright or legal. A review is required before deletion; this is not a promise of an automatic deletion deadline. Earlier handled records without a recorded closure date require individual review.

Deleting a submission from the editorial inbox also removes its linked application outgoing-mail record, subject to a legal hold or in-progress delivery. Copies already delivered to Gmail or Resend, exports and provider backups need separate handling. Unrelated newsletter records and confirmation links are not removed by deleting a contact message. Newsletter suppression may retain an address to prevent further mail.

Browser items, Analytics records and voting ballots follow the separate rules above. Application abuse-prevention keys use short time buckets and are cleaned up by later requests, not guaranteed database expiry. Providers may retain their own logs, delivery records and backups under their arrangements.

Removal requests need assessment across relevant records and providers; they are not a promise of instant erasure from every copy. We will explain a lawful retention limitation when responding. Publicly shared material can remain in independent archives, search caches or copies we do not control.

Other retention purposes

Newsletter records

While your signup or subscription remains active, with confirmation and delivery records used to administer it. Suppression information may remain while needed to prevent unwanted re-enrollment. Confirmation links expire after 48 hours; expiry alone does not erase the underlying record.

Account follows

While saved in your account, until you remove the relationship or an applicable account/rights request is completed. Local saves remain under your browser’s control.

Privacy and legal cases

For resolving the request, demonstrating the response and applicable legal-claim or recordkeeping periods. These cases are excluded from routine message cleanup and require individual assessment.

Editorial records

For maintaining publication history, sources, accuracy, media rights and defensible corrections. Public-interest archives may outlast a relationship or request, subject to applicable law.

Security and provider logs

According to the security purpose and relevant provider arrangements. Application abuse keys expire for enforcement within their short time bucket and are removed by subsequent cleanup activity; provider logging and backup periods are not controlled by the browser consent setting.

Legal holds preserve only records relevant to a reasonably anticipated or active dispute, investigation or legal duty. Retention is reassessed when that need ends. No policy promises immediate deletion from every archive or a fixed provider-wide expiry that has not been established.

International processing

QubitWire is accessible internationally and uses providers operating in more than one country. Information may be processed outside your country, where privacy protections may differ. Locations and arrangements depend on the service, including hosting, optional analytics, external media and email delivery.

For EEA or UK personal data, applicable transfer restrictions and safeguards must be assessed for the particular recipient and processing. Those may include an applicable adequacy decision, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or a valid UK transfer mechanism, where actually adopted and applicable. This notice does not claim QubitWire has executed SCCs, an IDTA or a UK Addendum, or appointed a regional representative. Contact us about the safeguards relevant to your information. Where law requires restrictions or safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply. This notice does not ask you to waive them or treat a visit as blanket consent to an otherwise restricted transfer.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can decline or withdraw Analytics permission, remove saved items, unsubscribe or withdraw newsletter interest, and ask about information you supplied. Depending on applicable law and circumstances, you may also have rights to:

• Request information about processing and access to or a copy of personal information.
• Correct inaccurate information, request deletion or restrict particular processing.
• Receive eligible information in a portable format and object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent without affecting lawful processing before withdrawal.
• Appeal a request decision where that right applies, or complain to a competent privacy regulator.

Email gotqubits@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request,” the feature concerned and enough information to locate the record. Where appropriate, write from the address you used. Proportionate verification may be needed to prevent disclosure to the wrong person; do not send identity documents or passwords without an agreed, necessary verification process.

Requests will be handled within the time and conditions required by applicable law, with an explanation of any refusal or limitation and an appeal route where required. Exceptions may apply to protect legal obligations, security, other people’s rights or legitimate legal claims. You will not be penalized for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

Regional rights, including in the EEA, UK and US states, depend on the law’s scope and our processing. This notice does not claim that every regional business threshold applies to QubitWire or exclude a right because the publication is free. Your local privacy authority can explain its complaint procedure.

California, U.S. state, EEA and UK rights

Statutory coverage depends on factors such as the operator, jurisdiction, revenue, processing volume and activity. We do not assert that every comprehensive privacy law applies, or that QubitWire is exempt. These disclosures preserve the rights that do apply.

California and other U.S. states. Depending on the applicable law, rights may include knowing the categories and specific pieces collected; sources, purposes and recipients; access, correction, deletion and portability; opting out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and covered profiling; limiting certain sensitive-data uses; authorized-agent requests; appeals; and non-discrimination. The information, purposes, providers and retention sections form our notice at collection for the site’s listed activities. We do not request government identifiers, precise device location, health data or financial credentials through ordinary reader features.

Your privacy choices controls optional loading without an account. The site recognizes the Global Privacy Control browser signal and Sec-GPC request signal and keeps Analytics and external players, maps and market widgets off when detected. Advertising storage and advertising user-data settings remain denied unless the separate Google Ads measurement choice is explicitly saved. Advertising personalization remains denied in all cases. Global Privacy Control also suppresses and persistently withdraws Google Ads measurement permission. External links remain available; reading history on this device has its own choice. Without that signal, each external-content category requires separate permission and then operates under that provider’s practices. You may also submit an opt-out request below; do not provide identity documents to exercise a browser opt-out.

EEA and UK. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and eligible portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing; withdraw consent; and complain to your competent supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner. Withdrawal does not affect lawful prior processing. Necessary requested features, legal obligations, editorial activity and legitimate interests must be assessed under the relevant law, including any applicable journalism or freedom-of-expression provisions.

Agents and appeals. An agent may identify the person and request with proportionate evidence of authority. We may separately verify the person for access or deletion without collecting more than necessary. If a request is refused or limited, ask for review using “Privacy appeal” and your reference. We explain the decision and applicable complaint route within the periods required by the relevant law. These procedures do not require you to contact us before approaching a regulator or court where your rights permit otherwise.

Professional profiles and editorial privacy

People profiles use public professional sources, including institutional biographies, research papers, official announcements and attributed media. Coverage concerns professional contributions and public-interest reporting. Sources, affiliation dates and editorial judgments should be read together; publication is not a representation of endorsement by a subject.

Tell us about an inaccurate role, outdated biography, photo-rights problem or privacy concern using the request form. We assess correction or removal against the facts, relevance, applicable privacy rights and editorial protections. Public availability alone does not eliminate every privacy or copyright obligation.

Submit a privacy request

Automated tools and research

Technical controls validate submissions, apply request limits and maintain vote totals. Connected editorial and mailbox tools may assist with sorting and drafting. Public QRank assessments concern organizations and published sector evidence; they are not personal credit decisions.

The site is not designed to make solely automated decisions about individuals producing legal or similarly significant effects. If a technical restriction appears mistaken or you are concerned about a request, contact us for review.

Children and sensitive information

The publication is general-audience and is not directed to children under 13. Newsletter signup and ordinary contribution forms require a representation that the submitter is at least 16; any higher local requirement still applies. We do not knowingly invite children under 16 to use those personal-data features. Reading public information and exercising privacy, safety or legal rights do not require an age representation. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied information should contact us so we can assess and address the record under applicable law.

The site does not verify every reader’s age. Do not unnecessarily send a child’s information or other sensitive records through a public form. Local age and consent protections may also apply.

Security and incident reporting

The site uses HTTPS, protected editorial access, server-side form validation and request limits on submission and voting actions. Application rate-limit records use hashed connection keys; hosting systems still receive ordinary connection information, including IP addresses. Hashing is a protective measure, not guaranteed anonymity.

No website, device or email channel is perfectly secure. Our Security page explains reporting and service boundaries. Report unintended exposure to gotqubits@gmail.com with the subject “QubitWire security report” and a brief, redacted description.

Changes and contact

September 26, 2026: browser choices now preserve detected GPC suppression so removing the signal does not restore earlier remote permissions. A choice that cannot be saved does not activate optional features. Withdrawal and changes in another tab no longer automatically reload the page. See persistence and browser limits.

We update this notice as processing or requirements change and show the revision date above. Material changes will be identified on the website, with additional notice or a renewed choice where required. Continuing to read is not consent to new optional analytics or marketing.
