Who this notice covers

This notice explains how information is handled when you visit qubitwire.com, send QubitWire a message, suggest an event, use our research and media tools, or join the weekly briefing launch list. “QubitWire,” “we” and “our” refer to the operator of this publication. Contact us about privacy at gotqubits@gmail.com.

You can read the public website without creating a QubitWire account. The private editorial desk is for authorized administration. Our Terms of use cover use of the publication, and our Security page explains safeguards and reporting. Reading the site or accepting its terms does not subscribe you to email or give permission for optional analytics.

This notice covers QubitWire’s handling of information. Linked websites, embedded services, your email provider and services you sign in to separately also have their own practices.

Information we receive

Contact messages: Your name, email, topic, subject, message and optional organization, together with the consent recorded by the form, submission time and request reference.
Event suggestions: Your email and the event name, organizer, format, date, location, official link and description you supply, plus consent and submission records.
Briefing interest: Email address, signup time, newsletter-consent version, subscription status and, when applicable, confirmation and delivery records.
Site activity: Connection and request information needed to serve pages and protect the service. With your permission, limited page and interaction information also goes to Google Analytics.
Saved items and votes: Saved video, event and organization identifiers in your browser; a voting browser identifier, daily ballot hashes and public totals as explained below.
Company follows: When you sign in, we receive a site-specific user identifier and identity claims. We store the identifier, followed company identifiers and follow times to restore your choices across devices. Following does not subscribe you to email. Remove follows from Your Updates to delete those saved relationships.
Administration: For authorized editors, identity information supplied at sign-in and records of content changes, including editor identifier and time.

Free-text fields receive what you choose to enter. Please do not submit passwords, verification codes, financial account details, private keys, health records or unnecessary sensitive information. Sending a message does not create a confidential professional relationship.

Why information is used

We use information to operate the publication, answer inquiries, review suggestions and corrections, administer newsletter choices, provide saved-item and voting features, understand readership where permission is given, and investigate errors, abuse or legal concerns.

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, optional analytics and newsletter marketing rely on consent. Necessary operation, editorial correspondence, abuse prevention and recordkeeping are handled for legitimate interests in running and protecting the publication, subject to the balancing and rights required by applicable law. Legal obligations and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims may also require processing. Where necessary to perform a specific agreement you request, that purpose may provide a separate basis.

We do not sell contact submissions or the newsletter list, or use their contents for advertising personalization. This does not mean external services receive no information when their content loads. The public site does not collect brokerage credentials, execute trades or process event ticket purchases.

Messages and event suggestions

Submissions enter a private editorial inbox. Contact details and private messages are not automatically published. Event information intended for publication may be reviewed, edited and published; the submitter’s contact email is used for handling the request and is not automatically part of the listing.

Email notifications are sent through Resend to gotqubits@gmail.com. Resend and the receiving email service process the message and sender details for delivery and reply handling.

When company-mailbox assistance is connected, automated tools may help categorize correspondence or prepare routine replies, with sensitive matters referred for owner review. That assistance is separate from visitor analytics. Contacting us does not join the briefing list. Do not use the form for emergencies or a deadline requiring a guaranteed response.

Optional Google Analytics

The Google Analytics tag loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Declining leaves the website usable. With permission, we measure eligible public page visits, approximate location, device and browser categories, traffic sources, engagement and selected actions such as opening a video or organization profile, saving a video, following a link or submitting a form. Google receives ordinary connection information when the tag loads.

These are browser and interaction measurements, not a complete count of individual people. A video-opening event does not prove playback; a form-success event does not prove a unique subscriber or delivered email.

Our tracking code excludes form contents, email addresses, free-text searches, private inbox information and vote choices. Page addresses sent by that code omit query parameters and fragments. Event details are restricted to approved categories and public content identifiers. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled, and no personal account identifier is assigned to Analytics.

Your browser choice is recognized for up to 180 days. The site requests a 180-day analytics-cookie lifetime without extending expiry on each visit. The property’s configured event and user-level retention is 14 months; standard aggregate reports may remain available longer.

lets you change your choice. Withdrawal stops future collection through this feature and attempts to remove this site’s Analytics cookies; the page may reload. It does not erase information already collected. See Google’s explanation of information from partner sites.

Cookies and browser storage

Privacy choice: Local storage remembers acceptance or refusal for 180 days. A refusal cookie can also preserve the choice. Older stored values may remain until browser data is cleared even after the app stops treating them as current.
Analytics cookies: Google’s _ga and related cookies distinguish browsers and sessions after permission, subject to the lifetime and withdrawal controls above.
Saved items: Saved articles, videos, events, topic follows and the QRank shortlist stay in this browser until removed, cleared or evicted. Your Updates brings these lists together. Company follows also form your Investing watchlist; they stay in this browser when signed out and are stored in your account when signed in. You can explicitly merge local company follows into signed-in follows. Other saved lists remain in this browser.
Reading and return history: Your browser remembers your last visit, recently opened articles, approximate reading position, read or watched status and acknowledged updates so you can resume reading and see what changed. Up to 200 article records and 500 saved status identifiers are retained locally. These records are not sent to QubitWire as part of this feature. Reset them from Your Updates without removing your saved lists or company follows. Opening a video does not automatically mark it watched.
Voting cookie: The functional qw_video_voter cookie holds a random browser identifier for up to one year. It may be set when the video page retrieves votes, before you cast a vote, independently of Analytics permission.

Remove saved items through their controls or clear this site’s browser data. Blocking or deleting cookies and storage may reset preferences, saved items and voting identity. A new device or browser does not automatically receive the same saved list.

Searches, filters and selected profiles can appear in page addresses, browser history and copied links. Although our custom Analytics events omit those query values, ordinary site requests and hosting systems may receive them. Do not put private information in a search or share a URL without checking its contents.

Community video voting

A random, pseudonymous browser identifier helps enforce one vote per video per UTC day. “Pseudonymous” means an identifier is used instead of your name; it does not guarantee that information can never be linked to a browser. The cookie is sent with requests to this site. Ballot records use a hash derived from the identifier and UTC date, alongside the video, direction and time.

After successful voting activity, the app attempts to remove ballots older than the current and two preceding UTC dates. Cleanup is triggered by activity, not guaranteed at exactly 72 hours: older records can remain while voting is inactive or cleanup fails. Aggregate upvote and downvote totals remain public.

Temporary hashed connection keys limit excessive voting requests. Voter identities are not published and vote direction is not sent in our Analytics events. Totals represent recorded votes, not verified unique people, expert judgments or YouTube view counts. Clearing the cookie or changing browsers can create a new identity.

Providers and external content

Hosting and access: Our hosting providers, OpenAI and Cloudflare, serve the site, store application records and support protected editorial access. They process connection, request and security information needed to operate their systems.
Google Analytics: Google receives limited measurement and connection information when you allow the tag. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
YouTube: Thumbnails load from YouTube. A privacy-enhanced YouTube player loads when a video is opened, including through a shared video link, before playback necessarily begins. These connections are independent of Analytics choice and governed by Google’s practices.
Google Maps: When you open an event with a physical location, its map loads from Google as it approaches your screen. Google receives the listed location and connection information independently of Analytics choice. The event map does not request your device location. Opening Maps takes you to Google’s service. TradingView: Market panels and compact homepage quotes load TradingView scripts and widgets as they approach your screen. TradingView receives connection and relevant page/widget information independently of Analytics consent. See TradingView’s Privacy Policy.
Email services: When activated, Resend handles confirmations, notifications and newsletters. Recipient mail services, including Gmail for QubitWire’s mailbox, process delivered correspondence. See Resend’s Privacy Policy.

A privacy-enhanced player or declined Analytics choice does not prevent all provider requests, cookies or processing. External services have their own policies. A source, organization or registration link takes you to a separate service; check its practices before submitting information.

Authorized personnel and tools assisting QubitWire may handle records for the purposes described here. Disclosure may also be necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect rights and safety, or resolve fraud, abuse or a security issue. A change in the publication’s operation or ownership would require continued protection of information and any legally required notice.

How long information remains

Retention depends on the record and purpose. The application does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to contact messages, event suggestions, subscriber records, editorial history or outgoing-mail records. Messages remain for handling and follow-up until removed by the owner. Open requests, delivery and complaint history, suppression, security and applicable legal obligations inform removal decisions.

Deleting a message from the editorial inbox does not automatically delete a notification, outgoing-mail copy, owner export or receiving mailbox copy. Outgoing-mail records can contain submitted details or a confirmation link and remain after a message is handled or a link expires. Newsletter suppression may retain an address to prevent further mail.

Browser items, Analytics records and voting ballots follow the separate rules above. Application abuse-prevention keys use short time buckets and are cleaned up by later requests, not guaranteed database expiry. Providers may retain their own logs, delivery records and backups under their arrangements.

Removal requests need assessment across relevant records and providers; they are not a promise of instant erasure from every copy. We will explain a lawful retention limitation when responding. Publicly shared material can remain in independent archives, search caches or copies we do not control.

International processing

QubitWire is accessible internationally and uses providers operating in more than one country. Information may be processed outside your country, where privacy protections may differ. Locations and arrangements depend on the service, including hosting, optional analytics, external media and email delivery.

Contact us about processing relevant to your request and any applicable transfer safeguards. Where law requires restrictions or safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply. This notice does not ask you to waive them or treat a visit as blanket consent to an otherwise restricted transfer.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can decline or withdraw Analytics permission, remove saved items, unsubscribe or withdraw newsletter interest, and ask about information you supplied. Depending on applicable law and circumstances, you may also have rights to:

Request information about processing and access to or a copy of personal information.
Correct inaccurate information, request deletion or restrict particular processing.
Receive eligible information in a portable format and object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent without affecting lawful processing before withdrawal.
Appeal a request decision where that right applies, or complain to a competent privacy regulator.

Email gotqubits@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy request,” the feature concerned and enough information to locate the record. Where appropriate, write from the address you used. Proportionate verification may be needed to prevent disclosure to the wrong person; do not send identity documents or passwords without an agreed, necessary verification process.

Requests will be handled within the time and conditions required by applicable law, with an explanation of any refusal or limitation and an appeal route where required. Exceptions may apply to protect legal obligations, security, other people’s rights or legitimate legal claims. You will not be penalized for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

Regional rights, including in the EEA, UK and US states, depend on the law’s scope and our processing. This notice does not claim that every regional business threshold applies to QubitWire or exclude a right because the publication is free. Your local privacy authority can explain its complaint procedure.

Automated tools and research

Technical controls validate submissions, apply request limits and maintain vote totals. Connected editorial and mailbox tools may assist with sorting and drafting. Public QRank assessments concern organizations and published sector evidence; they are not personal credit decisions.

The site is not designed to make solely automated decisions about individuals producing legal or similarly significant effects. If a technical restriction appears mistaken or you are concerned about a request, contact us for review.

Children and sensitive information

The publication and signup forms are intended for a general readership interested in quantum technology and are not directed to children under 13. We do not ask children to submit personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied information should contact us so we can assess and address the record under applicable law.

The site does not verify every reader’s age. Do not unnecessarily send a child’s information or other sensitive records through a public form. Local age and consent protections may also apply.

Security and incident reporting

The site uses HTTPS, protected editorial access, server-side form validation and request limits on submission and voting actions. Application rate-limit records use hashed connection keys; hosting systems still receive ordinary connection information, including IP addresses. Hashing is a protective measure, not guaranteed anonymity.

No website, device or email channel is perfectly secure. Our Security page explains reporting and service boundaries. Report unintended exposure to gotqubits@gmail.com with the subject “QubitWire security report” and a brief, redacted description.

Changes and contact

We update this notice as processing or requirements change and show the revision date above. Material changes will be identified on the website, with additional notice or a renewed choice where required. Continuing to read is not consent to new optional analytics or marketing.
