What has been demonstrated

Nu Quantum reports a rack-mounted networking prototype with 300 ns control latency. CERN independently confirms the White Rabbit timing collaboration and a prototype presentation. The February 2026 lab announcement describes trapped-ion interface testing as work ahead.

What remains unresolved

Controller specifications do not establish end-to-end remote-qubit fidelity or an operating distributed quantum computer. The quoted optical fidelity ceiling must not be treated as measured system fidelity.

The next question to watch

Can integrated remote-qubit experiments publish entanglement fidelity, sustained link rate and useful distributed operations together?
