What has been demonstrated

A July 2026 preprint reports percent-level magnetization precision in a driven Ising experiment using up to 74 qubits on IBM Heron r3. Validation includes selected-cycle corroboration on Quantinuum hardware.

What remains unresolved

Error mitigation improves estimated results; it does not create protected logical qubits. Reliability depends on characterization and validation, and the accuracy target and circuit volume affect quantum runtime.

The next question to watch

Will independent tests reproduce the precision at larger circuit volumes with an acceptable total runtime and strong classical comparisons?
