Read the employer’s current individual posting as the final reference. A role category helps navigation but does not replace the employer’s complete description. A source-check date records a review; availability can change.
Confirm identity and availability
Check that the page describes one role rather than a talent community or general careers page. Follow the identified employer source. An unavailable source is a reason to investigate, not proof that the job has been filled.
Read the responsibility before the title
Find the outcome the person will own, the team or system involved and the recurring work. Separate required, preferred and trainable skills. Where the source is unclear, keep a specific question rather than filling the gap yourself.
Confirm where the work can happen
Read office location, work arrangement and remote-eligible geography separately. Remote work can be limited to countries or regions. Hybrid attendance and travel can materially affect whether a role works for you.
Check the salary’s scope and unit
Look for currency, amount and pay period, then identify whether the figure is base pay. Check location-specific bands and any separate bonus, commission or equity. A high maximum does not mean the published minimum meets your threshold. Treat missing pay as unknown.
Use a shortlist as a reference
Saving a role does not reserve it or preserve its availability. Keep the canonical link and your questions. If saving is limited to the current browser, clearing storage or switching devices can remove the list.
Finish with the employer’s application system
Review the destination and follow the employer’s instructions. A link click is only a handoff. Complete the process and retain the employer’s confirmation. Do not send money, credentials or sensitive documents to an unverified recipient.
Questions worth asking
- Which requirements are essential, preferred or trainable?
- Where may the employee actually work, and what attendance or travel is expected?
- Does the compensation state currency, pay period and whether bonus or equity is separate?
- Does the application link lead to the employer or its identified application system?
Before you apply
A checked source is not an employer endorsement or a guarantee about every claim or the outcome of an application.
A country filter does not establish citizenship requirements, work authorization or sponsorship. Confirm those details with the employer.
Opening an application link is not submitting an application. Keep the employer’s own confirmation.
