IonQ and SkyWater say the acquisition of SkyWater Technology closed on July 31, bringing established US semiconductor fabrication and packaging operations into a quantum-computing company. SkyWater is now described as an IonQ subsidiary, connecting IonQ's hardware ambitions with those manufacturing operations.
The announcement states consideration of $15 in cash plus 0.4883 IonQ shares for each SkyWater share.
The closing establishes the change in ownership. It does not establish better quantum manufacturing yields or delivery of IonQ's future hardware roadmap.
