Reconstructing two-qubit quantum states
White co-authored a practical treatment of two-qubit state tomography, including maximum-likelihood reconstruction and error analysis. The methods help infer physically valid density matrices from experimental measurements and quantify uncertainty in the reconstructed state.

An all-optical controlled-NOT gate
With collaborators, White demonstrated a probabilistic controlled-NOT gate using photons and used it to generate entangled states. The experiment established a concrete optical two-qubit operation within the limitations of that implementation.
